The octagon is 8 feet across at it’s widest points. The lower wall is shown here before I changed where the entry door would be. At this point the door faces the garage. It took exactly one time crawling through that door and smacking my head on the mount’s counterweights and the decision was made to move the door 90-degrees clockwise around the octagon.
